Tour Details

The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek combined with the Mardi Himal Trek is an incredible way to experience the diverse landscapes, rich culture, and breathtaking mountain views of Nepal’s Annapurna region. This combination allows you to explore both the popular Annapurna Sanctuary and the quieter, less-crowded trails of Mardi Himal, offering a perfect blend of classic Himalayan trekking and off-the-beaten-path adventure.

The trek takes you through lush rhododendron forests, traditional Gurung and Magar villages, terraced fields, and high-altitude landscapes, culminating in stunning views of peaks like Annapurna I, Machapuchare (Fishtail), and Mardi Himal. The Annapurna Base Camp, at 4,130 meters, places you in the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary, surrounded by towering mountains, while the Mardi Himal Base Camp, at 4,500 meters, offers a more intimate and serene experience with panoramic views of the Himalayas.

A typical itinerary for this combined trek lasts around 12–14 days, starting with a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara and then to Nayapul, where the trek begins. You’ll pass through villages like Ghandruk and Chhomrong, ascend to Annapurna Base Camp, and then retrace your steps to connect with the Mardi Himal trail. The Mardi Himal section takes you through dense forests, high ridges, and finally to the Mardi Himal Base Camp, where you’ll enjoy close-up views of the mountains. The trek is moderate to challenging, requiring a good level of fitness, but it rewards you with unforgettable scenery and cultural experiences.

The best time to undertake this trek is during the spring (March–May) or autumn (September–November) seasons, when the weather is stable, the skies are clear, and the views are at their best. Permits required for the trek include the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and the Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) card.

Packing essentials include sturdy trekking boots, warm layers, a down jacket, a sleeping bag, and trekking poles, as well as sunscreen and water purification tablets. Combining the ABC and Mardi Himal treks is ideal for those who want to experience both the iconic Annapurna Sanctuary and the quieter, more peaceful trails of Mardi Himal, making it a truly rewarding adventure in the Himalayas.
